La Palma, the pretty island, is extraordinarily escarped, where we find the greatest height in the world in relation to its perimeter. In its centre there is the biggest crater known as La Caldera del Taburiente, declared National Park. Its perimeter is of 9 km with depths of up to 770 meters, and all this extension is covered with immense pine groves. The imposing grandiosity of the Caldera can be contemplated from different parts from the island. The peak altitude of the island corresponds to El Roque de los Muchachos, where there is an astro-physic observatory at 2,423 meters. All these factors contribute to making La Palma an ideal place to practice any type of adventure sport. |
